Barry Moore: Alabama has more residents fleeing ‘leftist woke craziness’ than ever, calls on GOP voters to turn out in November

U.S. Rep Barry Moore (R-Enterprise) is hopeful that people who are moving to the Yellowhammer State aren’t going to vote for Democrats.

Some GOP leaders in Alabama have been sounding the alarm about changing demographics in certain areas, which could possibly change the electoral map in the future.

“That hasn’t just started. That’s been going on for 10 or 15 years,” Tuberville said recently. “You have people coming from other states who were brought up in these government-educated schools that have taught socialism and communism. Even in the last election, when I ran six years ago, in those counties up there, I didn’t get near the votes. Even President Trump was on the ballot that I got in other counties in the state, and so people have to be educated. People have to understand that when you come here, you’re probably leaving your states that were underwater, so to speak.”

Moore, who is the Republican nominee for U.S. Senate, said there is always a concern about new residents eventually turning the state blue, but said many of them moved to the state because of their Republican ideals.

The congressman discussed the issue Wednesday on WVNN’s “The Yaffee Program.”

“I have actually been at speaking engagements and had people walk up and say, ‘We came to Alabama because we like conservative ideas.’  My son went to Auburn, too. His closest buddies were New Yorkers…they can’t stand the the the big cities dictating their lives and and and the wokeness of it,” Moore explained. “And so they were coming south and then staying south because they get out of there and they’re like, ‘We’re not going back to that.’”

Moore said the Democratic Party has just been taken over by radicals.

“And if you look at the Democratic party, it has been so hijacked with the the far-left woke crazy stuff,” he argued. “Men in girls sports, things that people 80% of America don’t agree with. You know, there’s just things that the people just simply can’t stomach anymore in some of those blue states.”

“I’m always worried about people who come here and go, ‘Well, you know, I may have voted that way in California, but I’m still going to vote kind of moderate.’ But I but I think in many ways, you know, it won’t impact Alabama,” Moore added. “But it does over time. And we saw that like you said in Georgia, a lot of Georgia’s problems too is not securing their elections which in Alabama we’ve got solid voter ID laws. But I think in many ways there are people to your point that are fleeing the leftist wokeness craziness, communist, socialist, whatever it is to come to Alabama to live in the land of free.”

Moore believes this is why it’s vital for Republicans to show up to the polls in November.

“Most voters don’t pay attention till a few weeks out,” he said. “The polls are starting to shift in our direction. We’re cautiously optimistic, we’re certainly going to hold the Senate, I feel like. And then the House, it’s anybody’s guess. We just need to maintain out of the 18, we need six of those to keep that majority. I think 212 are pretty solid. So, we’ll see how it plays out, brother. But, we need to get our people out the vote. That’s the big issue, just not being complacent. And Trump’s not on the top of the ticket, but we need to show up like he is.”
