Americans for Prosperity Alabama (AFP-AL) have endorsed two Republican incumbents and one challenger for Alabama’s House of Representatives in 2026.
AFP-AL endorsed State Rep. James Lomax (R-Huntsville) for House District 20, State Rep. Matt Simpson (R-Daphne) for House District 96, and former District Attorney Lloyd Peeples for House District 48.
“James Lomax, Matt Simpson, and Lloyd Peeples will be champions for Alabama families,” AFP-AL Director Adam Thompson said. “They will advocate for educational freedom, as well as regulatory, tax and health care reforms. AFP-AL looks forward to leveraging its capabilities to connect with voters and share how these candidates will help expand freedom and opportunity for all Alabamians.”
According to the press release, “Rep. Lomax is in his first term and was recently appointed as House Majority Whip, demonstrating that he is already capable of being a strong policy champion. He has supported school choice, the end of judicial deference, lower taxes, and regulatory reform.”
“Rep. Simpson has served in the Alabama House of Representatives since 2018. Since then, he has been a strong ally on legislation relating to school choice, regulatory reform, judicial deference and tax reform.”
“Peeples is a former assistant U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Alabama where he spent 18 years as a federal prosecutor. He is also a small business owner and an outspoken advocate for education, regulatory and health care reform.”
