Americans for Prosperity-Alabama (AFP-AL) believes it’s past time to cut regulations and lower the costs for consumers in the Yellowhammer State.
“Unelected bureaucrats at state agencies shouldn’t be able to raise costs on Alabamians without a single vote of the legislature.,” AFP-AL State Director Adam Thompson said.
“This tour is about making sure people understand who’s actually writing the rules that affect their businesses and their lives — and giving them a direct way to tell their legislators it’s time for a vote. Simply put: No vote? No rule.”
The goal of the tour is to build public support for a slate of policy priorities ahead of the 2027 legislative session. September’s stops will focus on the REINS Act, which would transform Alabama’s regulatory environment.
AFP-AL kicked off the first leg of its “Sweet Home Freedom Tour” this week with stops in Huntsville, Sylacauga, and Daphne. The tour will include seven more of the events in September.
More tour stops include:
- September 15: Cullman, Birmingham
- September 16: Dothan
- September 17: Decatur, Montgomery, Enterprise
- September 22: Tuscaloosa
