American troops killed by Iran-backed terror network – Britt calls for ‘bonecrushing’ pressure on regime

On Sunday, a drone launched by a terrorist militia backed by Iran killed three U.S. Army soldiers and injured at least two dozen more in Jordan.

U.S. Representative Mike Rogers, Gary Palmer and U.S. Senator Katie Britt released statements expressing their condolences to the families and their anger with Iran for backing this attack against the armed forces of the United States.

Mike Rogers (R-Saks) is the Chairman of the House Armed Services Committee.

“Three American servicemembers made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of our nation and our freedoms,” said Chairman Rogers in a statement.

“I am praying for their families and for all the servicemembers injured in this heinous attack. It’s long past time for President Biden to finally hold the terrorist Iranian regime and their extremist proxies accountable for the attacks they’ve carried out against U.S. and coalition forces.”

“My prayers are with the families of the three US service members who were killed and the fifty reported, thus far, to be wounded in an Iranian-backed attack on our soldiers last night,” Rep. Palmer (R-Hoover) said.

“Though Iran may have supported the attack, it was made possible by the weak leadership coming from the White House. The Iranians regime and its proxies have continually escalated their attacks on U.S. military members in the region, with tepid responses from the Biden Administration despite many warnings. It would eventually lead to loss of life for American military personnel. It is clear terrorist, nor their Iranians supporters, have no fear of lethal retaliation from the White House. This tragic situation was predictable and causes more danger for the men and women serving in the region.”

“My heart breaks for the three American heroes we’ve lost at the hands of Iran’s terror network,” said Sen. Britt (R-Montgomery) in a statement.

“Peace will only come through strength,” Britt continued.

“We know that the Iranian regime is responsible for these deaths and for the bloody turmoil unfolding throughout the region. Remember that this is the same regime that is the largest state sponsor of terrorism on earth. This is the same regime that the Biden Administration has recklessly enriched to the tune of billions of dollars. And it’s the same regime against which the Biden Administration still obstinately refuses to enforce a bonecrushing, maximum-pressure sanctions campaign. If the President meets this moment with further fecklessness, more American lives will be lost. Every malign actor across the planet is watching. The United States’ response must be swift, decisive, and overwhelming in order to finally achieve deterrence and protect Americans both at home and abroad.”

President Joe Biden said the United States “will hold all those responsible to account at a time and in a manner (of) our choosing.” Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said “we will take all necessary actions to defend the United States, our troops, and our interests.”
