Ahead of President-Elect Donald Trump’s inauguration on Monday, a detail of Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) embarked on an important mission to support security efforts during the 2025 Presidential Inauguration in Washington, D.C.

Troopers departed from Alabama and arrived at Ronald Reagan Washington Airport in Arlington tonight. The detail continues a standing tradition of providing assistance to presidential inaugurations in years past.

They’ll work closely with local, state and federal law enforcement agencies to maintain security and ensure a safe environment for attendees at the inauguration and related events.

The swearing-in ceremony will look different this year as frigid conditions caused the decision to move indoors of the U.S. Capitol.

“The weather forecast for Washington, D.C., with the windchill factor, could take temperatures into severe record lows,” President-Elect Donald Trump posted this week. “There is an Arctic blast sweeping the Country. I don’t want to see people hurt, or injured, in any way.”

But, the day of events is expected to bring many thousands of Americans together for the big day. After their mission in Washington, the ALEA Troopers return to continue serving and protecting Alabama.

On Saturday night, U.S. Senator Katie Britt (R-Montgomery) praised them for their efforts and welcomed them to Washington.
