The Alabama League of Municipalities (ALM) will launch its first regional orientation training session for newly elected and returning municipal officials on October 1–2 at the Bryant Conference Center in Tuscaloosa.
Hosted every four years following municipal elections, these sessions help city and town leaders understand League programs and services. Attendees will also receive training in legal, financial, and ethics matters from ALM staff and the Alabama Ethics Commission.
The program will highlight recent legislative updates, current municipal issues, and key resources to address daily challenges, while offering opportunities for networking and idea sharing among peers from across the state. A full agenda is available here.
More than 200 municipal officials, primarily from West Alabama, have registered for the two-day event, which features multiple training sessions.
Since its founding in 1935, ALM has represented more than 450 cities and towns across Alabama, focusing on strengthening local government through advocacy, training, and leadership development.
The Tuscaloosa session, held at the Bryant Conference Center, is the first of four regional trainings planned across the state.
Day One sessions will run from 9 a.m. to 4:45 p.m., followed by an evening reception. Day Two will conclude at 12:30 p.m.
Building on its long history of training and support, ALM continues to equip municipal leaders with the tools and knowledge needed to effectively serve their communities.
