Alabama’s Republican congressional delegation is criticizing President Joe Biden’s foreign policy after three U.S. servicemembers were killed in an attack by an Iranian-backed militia group.
Monday, the Pentagon identified the soldiers that were killed in Jordan by an Iran-proxy group drone. Those killed were Sgt. William Jerome Rivers, Spc. Kennedy Landon Sanders, and Spc. Breonna Alexsondria Moffett.
U.S. Rep. Mike Rogers (R-Saks), who chairs the House Armed Services Committee, said Biden’s appeasement strategy in the Middle East is responsible for the continuing violence that puts America’s national security at risk.
“President Biden’s fear of escalation has morphed into a doctrine of appeasement,” Rogers said in a statement. “The weakness shown by this administration emboldens our enemies. Attacks on our servicemembers, allies, and interests will continue until this president shows strong leadership and strikes fear in our enemies. Sadly, I don’t think that day will come until there is new leadership.”
Rogers emphasized that Biden’s policies are directly responsible for the soldiers that were killed in the recent attack.
“Our adversaries seek to displace American leadership – half measures and appeasement play directly into their plan. Real leadership requires real action,” he argued. “Today is a gut-wrenching reminder that when policies like appeasement fail – it’s our servicemembers who end up paying the price. Americans deserve better leadership.”

U.S. Rep. Barry Moore (R-Enterprise) said this attack is just more evidence that “Biden’s weakness on the world’s stage emboldens our enemies.”
Heather and I are praying for the families of the three American heroes we lost in Jordan this weekend, and the 25 service members who have been injured. Their sacrifice will never be forgotten.
Biden's weakness on the world's stage emboldens our enemies.
