John Wahl is expected to post a blockbuster week of fundraising heading into the final days of campaigning for the 2026 general election.

Wahl, the Republican nominee for Lt. Governor, can credit that partially to the state’s top two legislative leaders, who hosted a fundraiser for him this week in Birmingham.

His current cash on hand sits at $519,580.03, according to FCPA records. This week, Wahl reportedly raised $377,099, with more than a quarter-million of that total coming from the reception hosted by Alabama Speaker of the House Nathaniel Ledbetter (R-Rainsville) and Alabama Senate President Pro Tem Garlan Gudger (R-Cullman).

“I am always proud to support our Republican nominees,” Ledbetter said in a statement to Yellowhammer News. “We are 11 days out from the general election, and it is important that Republican candidates from the top of the ballot to the bottom share our unified vision for the state of Alabama.”

“All indicators continue pointing toward Alabamians being eager to vote for Republican candidates up and down the ballot,” Pro Tem Garlan Gudger told YHN. “I encourage every voter who believes in commonsense conservative government and homegrown Alabama values to simply circle by the elephant at the top of the ballot and vote a straight Republican ticket on November 3.”

Wahl faces outgoing-Democrat State Rep. Phillip Ensler (R-Montgomery) on November 3. During his time in the Legislature, Ensler was reliably one of the most liberal members of the Alabama House.

Much like U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn), Wahl faced lawfare from Democrats surrounding the issue of his residency. However, earlier this month, a Montgomery County Circuit Court Judge dismissed the quo warranto lawsuit filed against him with prejudice, clearing the flippant legal blockades that stood between him and a major victory Tuesday after next.
