Gary Palmer, Republican candidate in Alabama’s 6th Congressional District, is out with his first television ad, and it’s aimed at wooing voters whose faith is their top priority.
In the ad, which can be viewed above, Palmer discusses his upbringing in the small town of Hackleburg, Ala.
“Even though my family was poor, they were rich in faith,” Palmer says. “I learned right from wrong at an early age and also developed a strong work ethic.”
Palmer has for the past quarter century led the Alabama Policy Institute, a conservative think tank based in Birmingham that emphasize the principles of limited government, free markets, the rule of law and strong families.
“Each of us is called to be responsible stewards of the opportunities we’ve been given,” said Palmer. “One day I’ll have to give an account before my children and my grandchildren and ultimately, before God, for how I used my time and talent. I want to be able to say that I did all that I could to preserve liberty and to get America back on the right course, which is why I decided to run for office for the first time.”
Palmer feels that Christian values are under attack and says he hopes to reach out to individuals in the 6th District who feel the same, ultimately letting them know that faith and freedom are worth the fight.
