Alabama Lt. Gov. Will Ainsworth condemned a bizarre and extreme belief of some on the left who find it acceptable to offer “gender-affirming care” to minors.
The issue was in focus this week as oral arguments were heard by the U.S. Supreme Court on a Tennessee law recently enacted that sets age restrictions for sex-change procedures. Attorneys for the Biden Administration and the Department of Justice have asked the U.S. Supreme Court to rule the new law unconstitutional.
American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) attorney Chase Strangio argued on behalf of the U.S. Dept. of Justice arguing that Tennessee’s ban was unconstitutional. Strangio also discussed his argument recently on CNN.
“These are young people who may have known since they were two years old exactly who they are, who suffered for six, seven years before they had any relief,” Strangio said. “And what’s happening here, it’s not the kids who are consenting to this treatment. It’s the parents who are consenting to the treatment.”
Ainsworth fired back on X, calling Strangio’s argument “absolutely insane.”
“This is absolutely insane,” Ainsworth said. “I will do everything in my power to stop this and to protect children from these sick people. This is child abuse, and they deserve prison time for what they are doing to these children.”

Alabama filed an amicus brief in October with the Supreme Court that revealed how the medical guidelines the United States relies on to attack Tennessee’s law were manipulated to hide the fact that little to no evidence supports giving sterilizing drugs and surgeries to minors. A decision by the Supreme Court is expected by next summer.
