7. Matt Walsh screens “What is a Woman?” at the University of Alabama
- The “What is a Woman?” tour came to Tuscaloosa but not much actually materialized. The UA Leftists is apparently an “anticapitalist, antiracist, and feminist organization” and they planned to take “a stand against transphobia and harmful ideologies.”
- Nothing happened, Matt Walsh screened his movie, took questions and all was well. THe protests consisted of people calling Walsh a “pedophile” and offering to have sex with his wife.
6. Aniah’s Law has a lot of support
- Gov. Kay Ivey is the latest Alabama politician to come out in favor of a “yes” vote on the “Aniah’s Law” constitutional amendment. The law is named for Aniah Blanchard, a 19-year-old college student, whose murderer committed several violent offenses including kidnapping and attempted murder prior to her death.
- The constitutional amendment was sponsored by State Rep. Chip Brown (R-Mobile), the law allows judges broader discretion to deny bail to those accused of committing crimes.
5. Musk owns Twitter and the libs
- Billionaire Telsa CEO Elon Musk has officially taken over Twitter and has already fired CEO Parag Agrawal, CFO Ned Segal and the head of legal policy, trust and safety Vijaya Gadde.
- Musk’s acquisition of Twitter scares the hell out of liberals and makes conservatives happy for the same reason – he appears to find political censorship abhorrent.
4. Donald Trump endorses Dale Strong for Congress
- There was little chance of Madison County Commission Chairman Dale Strong losing his race to be the U.S. representative from the Fifth Congressional District and an endorsement from former President Donald Trump is just the icing on the cake.
- Trump posted a message on Truth Social that announced the endorsement, “Dale Strong will be a fantastic Representative for North Alabama in Congress,” said Trump. “Dale was with us from the beginning and, in Congress, he will Grow our Economy, Fight Inflation, Stop Illegal Immigration, Strengthen our Military, Support our Vets and Brave Law Enforcement, and Champion Conservative Values.”
3. A band of armed robbers is attacking Hispanics in Birmingham
- Murder is up in Birmingham, crime is frustrating many, and now we have disturbing reports that there have been at least 30 attacks by a “band of armed gunnmen” that is specifically targeting Hispanic victims, most likely because they are less likely to call the police.
- Six people were robbed in five incidents Wednesday and Officer Truman Fitzgerald says, “we know this group is not going to stop until we stop them,” and adds that there is “no signs that they’re going to stop.”
2. Crimson tide rising right before the midterm election
- Democrats in blue states are starting to see evidence that the red wave is preparing to crash into them. It is becoming so worrying that U.S. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) was recorded telling President Joe Biden that Georgia is lost and saying “The state where we’re going downhill is Georgia, it’s hard to believe that they will go for Herschel Walker.”
- It’s not just Georgia, states like New York, Michigan, Arizona and Pennsylvania are all trending in the wrong direction for Democrats.
1. Viral illness grows in Alabama
- Hospitals in Alabama are starting to warn that a variety of viral illnesses are “setting records every day.” Cases of mostly flu and respiratory syncytial virus are filling up pediatric hospitals, such as Children’s of Alabama in Birmingham, and that is causing long waits in the emergency room. Reports indicate that some waits are up to 10 hours.
- Emergency department physician Dr. Alicia Webb, told aldotcom, not to use the emergency room unless the child is struggling to breathe or is hard to wake up. Instead, take sick children to primary or urgent care facilities for mild symptoms.
