7 Things: Trump pledges to fight on; novel gun law targets irresponsible parents; and more …

7. Auburn head football coach Hugh Freeze has a pretty good idea: have Alabama/Auburn hold their spring practice games against Troy/UAB. Not sure why Alabama is brought up here but nothing is stopping Freeze from pursuing this for his team. Troy and UAB say to bring it on because, of course, they want this.

6. Senate Pro Tem Greg Reed (R-Jasper) is now open to the idea of ending the state’s sales tax on groceries, saying, “It impacts and affects everyone, every area of the state, whether it’s rural, whether it’s urban.” Reed leads the Senate and is encouraging the Senate to think about it and, “look at it.”

5. Alabama’s mayors get behind Gov. Kay Ivey’s economic plan.

4. Parents could, and should, be charged if their child brings an unsecured gun to school if a new bill offered up by an Alabama Democrat becomes law.

3. Progressive Democrats have taken the Wisconsin Supreme Court and that will have far-reaching impacts when it comes to issues of abortion, redistricting, and the 2024 election. This is a huge deal.

2. Former President Donald Trump was finally arraigned and it was a media circus but the promises of violence, as usual, did not occur. Trump is facing 34 felony charges with 130 years on the line but the lacking conspiracy charges make it clear this case is going nowhere. The next hearing is scheduled for December because this isn’t just ridiculous enough yet.

1. President Donald Trump remains defiant after his arraignment, they even faked a mugshot, and declared he is ready to fight with a social media post that says he, “(c)an’t believe this is happening in America!” Even some of his haters, including U.S. Sen. Mitt Romney (R-Utah), The Washington Post, and The Wall Street Journal, have spoken out about how weak this is.
