7 Things: Supreme Court lifts razor wire for illegals; Ivey calling for REAL school choice; and more …

7. Talk of NCAA’s “Name, Image, and Likeness” (NIL) issues driving coach Nick Saban into retirement may be overblown, according to Alabama’s former head coach himself. But fans are very serious about playing in that world. Message boards are now hearing a message that says to stop tithing to your church and start donating that money to Alabama football, “We are in a CRISIS. Your church will be fine. If it’s not you can join another. Football is religion in Alabama, and it’s time to prove it.”

6. Auburn athletics is now close to losing money, mostly because of $19.8 million in severance payments, including payouts to former head football coach Bryan Harsin. The only reason the program was not in the red was because support from the university went from $9.7 million to $25 million, leading to an overall profit of $3.2 million.

5. As the Thursday execution date for convicted murderer and future 100% nitrogen-inhaler Kenneth Eugene Smith, the propaganda and legal machine is kicking up more noise. The murderer is now claiming that merely waiting for his sentenced death is “torture,” in a message to the BBC, “I’m nauseous all the time. Panic attacks hit regularly… This is just a small part of what I’ve been dealing with daily. Torture, basically.”

4. An Alabama law meant to allow the flying of certain flags on public property could make it easier to fly the “LGBTQ” flag at public schools, city halls, and other buildings unless changed. The bill is meant to specify which flags can fly but it is way too broad as written, allowing any official to OK a flag, and will need to be changed to have the intended effect.

3. New Hampshire votes today, but neither major party nominee is in any danger, and none of it matters. President Joe Biden is not on the ballot in New Hampshire because the Democrats believe the state is too white and former President Donald Trump is working to finish off his former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley with a nearly 20-point lead expected, if not more.

2. Gov. Kay Ivey is celebrating “School Choice Week” by asking for “landmark” legislation to give parents a choice in their kids’ education. Speaking on the steps of the state Capitol, Ivey said, an “education savings account bill” and this is setting up a fight with the education establishment that fears REAL school choice.

1. The United States Supreme Court has sided with illegal immigrants and the Biden administration over Texas and Americans, clearing the way for the federal government to stop Texas from stopping illegal immigrants from entering the country. Judge Amy Coney Barrett sided with liberals, allowing Biden’s federal agents to remove the border fencing erected by Texas and continue helping people enter the country illegally.
