7 Things: NAACP reference George Floyd in Tuberville spat; Britt supports Coach, slams Biden; and more …

7. Alabama’s largest city, Huntsville, has gained another  No. 1 ranking with U.S. News & World Report as the Best Place to Live for Families in the United States. U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) used this to slam the decision to steal Space Command HQ from Huntsville.

6. Auburn head coach Hugh Freeze has weighed in on the drama surrounding Michael Oher and the family that took him in and spawned the hit movie, “The Blind Side.” Freeze was Oher’s high school coach and said, “I think it’s sad. I certainly don’t claim to understand all the ins and outs of adoption, conservatory, all of that. I know what I witnessed. I witnessed a family that totally took in a young man and I think without that, there is no story.”

5. Alabama Power has changed its mind on an inefficient project for a planned Pumped Storage Hydro facility. The bill ran into public opposition from a town, Public Service Commission President Twinkle Cavanaugh and, later, PSC member Chip Beeker.

4. With debates right around the corner, we are now going to hear about polls on a regular basis. Donald Trump’s inevitability in the GOP primary and vulnerability in the general will be a recurring theme. 74% of Republicans say they “definitely” or “probably will” vote for him in the primary, while only 36% of polled voters say they will in the general. Sounds about right.

3. The media is trying to sell the “Bidenomics” brand to voters and then acts confused that no one is buying it, but it is not just voters they can’t win over. While U.S. Rep. Terri Sewell (D-Birmingham) has praised Biden on the economy, her colleague U.S. Rep. Barry Moore (R-Enterprise) laid out what a failure it has been for everyday Americans.

2. Alabama’s NAACP hilariously says U.S. Sen.Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) is a laughing stock, as they held a press conference on the side of a road near one of Tuberville’s offices. Jerry Burnett, president of the Huntsville/Madison County NAACP, who wants you to know he served in Vietnam and disgustingly invoked George Floyd to attack Tuberville by telling him to “take your knee off of [veterans’] neck” twice.

1. U.S. Sen. Katie Britt (R-Montgomery) took to the airwaves to blast President Joe Biden on his decision to change the Pentagon’s abortion policy and fully backed U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville’s hold on military promotions and nominations until the Biden administration backs down. She also called the prosecution of former President Donald Trump “a disgrace.”
