Britt hits prosecution of Trump, calls it ‘a disgrace’

U.S. Sen. Katie Britt today doubled down on her support of President Donald Trump amid his prosecution by Democratic District Attorney Fani Willis in Atlanta.

On “Alabama Morning News with JT,” Britt (R-Montgomery) reaffirmed her belief that Trump was being targeted for political reasons.

On Tuesday, she said the United States must be “a constitutional republic, not a banana republic.”

Today, she continued to blast what she sees as “a disgrace.”

“This is not what our country was founded on,” Britt said. “Our forefathers would be horrified to see someone go after their top political opponent in this way. The justice system is meant to be fair, and it is meant to be blind. And the justice system under President Biden is anything but that.

“I think that if you look at what is happening with the Biden family – if Hunter Biden’s last name was Trump, he would already be thrown in jail for life. And the same thing with President Biden and the way that he is intricately involved in Hunter’s dealings. If his last name was Trump, they would be attempting to put him under the jail,” she said.

“So, this is a disgrace. This is not what our country was founded on. And we’ve got to make sure that we take all of this back.”
