6. The United States government has seen its credit rating downgraded, many claim it is about “political divisions” or Jan. 6, but maybe unrestrained debt-driven spending is a factor.

5. ALGOP seeks to change its rules and ban candidates for school board and superintendent from taking donations from the National Education Association and the Alabama Education Association. 4. Another indictment and 4 more charges for former President Donald Trump, this time for Jan. 6.

3. If former President Trump is convicted of these latest charges and dozens of other felonies, he will still be able to be on the ballot. He won’t be able to vote for himself but he has already made it clear that he will still run.

2. Former President Donald Trump’s GOP opponents in 2024 took different paths in responding to the news of the latest indictments with former Vice President Mike Pence offering a rebuke by saying the country is “more important than one man.”

1. Alabama’s Republican members of Congress call the latest indictment of former President Donald Trump a politically motivated “sham.”
