7. The American military has announced that we have another balloon flying over the mainland United States of America, reminding people of the Chinese spy balloon that was able to traverse the country a little over a year ago. The balloon is not maneuverable and not a threat to national security, according to the same administration that let that previous balloon get over the Atlantic Ocean before shooting it down and declaring it didn’t collect any data despite those exact capabilities.
6. Former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley was destroyed in the state she served as governor by former President Donald Trump by 59.8-39.5. Despite the unforgiving beating, Haley promises to continue being destroyed in other states, including Alabama, leading up to Super Tuesday, but her donors seem to disagree.
5. Democrats in the U.S. House of Representatives are openly discussing not certifying electors if former President Donald Trump wins in November. This, somehow, is not the “threat to democracy” we are constantly hearing about.
4. Russian President Vladimir Putin endorsed President Joe Biden last week because he wants a weaker America, Biden was not amused and called Putin an “SOB” while rambling about climate change. In response, Putin suggested, “He can’t of course say to me: ‘Volodya, well done, thank you [for the endorsement], you’ve helped me a lot?’”
3. The sponsor of real school choice in the Alabama State Senate, State Sen. Arthur Orr (R-Decatur), says that he does not see any “major problems for the legislation going forward.” The CHOOSE Act, if passed, will be a major leap for school choice but will not be the end of the debate.
2. Laken Riley, a 22-year-old college student, was murdered allegedly by an illegal immigrant on the campus of the University of Georgia. The media has worked hard to pretend the immigration status of the killer doesn’t matter, the place it happened was “eerie” and the real issue is women running alone not being safe. When the suspect was identified as an illegal immigrant who was released by President Joe Biden‘s parole policies, America was handed another reminder that releasing unknown people all over the country is a terrible way to handle our immigration policy, some say more immigration makes us safer.
1. A weekend of stupid talk dominated the discussion over the issue of last week’s ruling that put in vitro fertilization treatments in the state of Alabama in question even though that issue is being resolved. Alabama lawmakers, including the leadership of both chambers, conservative groups, the governor, the Attorney General, and even former President Donald Trump spoke out in favor of clarifying the law. However, this would not stop dishonest members of the media and their Democrats from pretending to be confused on the issue.
