7 Things: Hunter Biden indicted; Alabama Literacy Act devalued (again); and more …

7. 13,000 United Auto Workers union members are on strike against American automakers. They are striking at one plant for each major manufacturer (Ford, GM, Chevy).

6. U.S. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) has blown up his entire argument for not voting to confirm some nominees for the Department of Defense over the holds U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) had placed over the Pentagon’s illegal abortion policy by voting to confirm President Joe Biden’s nominee for the VA despite a hold by Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa). Republicans want those votes held, Schumer wants the political optics.

5. Some media outlets are suggesting that U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) has “flipped” on the impeachment of President Joe Biden, but he had always said he was in favor of the inquiry and now says he supports impeachment after meeting with U.S. Reps. James Comer (R-K.Y.) and Jim Jordan (R-Ohio).

4. Republican lawmakers are suggesting that there are some in their caucus who want to remove Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) from his position. Still, those challenges are not revealing themselves as of right now. If McCarthy fears those challenges, he is not showing it, and reportedly told his colleagues to “file the f***ing motion.”

3. The father of a 6-year-old with a weapons charge on his school record is pretty angry, and rightly so. Gun Owners of America are working with him to file a legal challenge to the school’s decision. The 6-year-old was accused of committing a “Class III” infraction and suspension while playing “cops and robbers” with his friend at the Jefferson County School District’s Bagley Elementary School in Dora.

2. The Alabama State School Board of Education is taking the easy way out and lowering the score necessary to be promoted to the fourth grade. They lowered the standard and they lowered the bar. Even though the Alabama Literacy Act was passed in 2019, and pushed back, State Superintendent Eric Mackey seems surprised a large number of illiterate kids will be held back, which was the entire point.

1. Hunter Biden did nothing wrong, except the gun stuff … and the drugs … and the prostitutes … and the Foreign Agent Registration Act violation … and the corruption with Ukraine, Russia, and China … and the tax evasion. But he and his father did nothing together business-related despite all the evidence to the contrary that proves the “Big Guy” was involved. The crackhead son of President Joe Biden’s lawyer blames “MAGA Republicans” for the indictment, while we await a possible pardon.
