4. When it comes to education in Alabama, the 2nd Congressional District candidate, Republican candidate Caroleene Dobson and Democratic candidate Shomari Figures presented contrasting visions on education but the divide between the two parties is clear. Dobson emphasized reducing federal bureaucracy and promoting local control over education funds, advocating for school choice and the redirection of federal dollars to support public school alternatives, Figures, on the other hand, focused on increasing funding for public education, arguing that a well-funded public education system is essential for workforce development and attracting corporate investment to Alabama.
