7 Things: Biden has document, border issues; Madison County shooting like a war zone; and more …

7. ALGOP wants RNC chair gone

  • The red wave never came, the House was taken but the U.S. Senate remains in Democrats’ hands, and, for that reason, the Alabama Republican Party Steering Committee now wants the Republican National Committee Chairperson Ronna McDaniel to go away.
  • The no-confidence vote by the ALGOP was followed by a series of statements explaining why. These include the RNC needing a new vision and fresh leadership, the RNC needing to do a better job defending God-given rights, the RNC needing to stand for a party platform and principles that made America great.

6. Birmingham is going to solve homelessness like they solved crime

  • The failure of Birmingham to grapple with its crime epidemic led to more murders than the city has seen in decades and it shows no sign of slowing down. The leadership of that city has failed the people and now they are planning to fail on homelessness, as well.
  • A recent count by the city of the number of homeless is apparently a drastic undercount. According to a “point-in-time” count of homeless, there are 943 people homeless on any given day, but advocates suggest the real number is closer to 4,000 actual homeless. But Mayor Randall Woodfin has a plan, the city will launch a project called  “Project Home for All” which will build 100 micro-shelters in “safe” communities. But he already tried this and failed.

5. Former Speaker Hubbard released from prison

  • Former Speaker of the Alabama State House Speaker Mike Hubbard after more than two years in person for ethics convictions that saw him sentenced to 28 months in prison. He applied for early release but did not get it because officials claimed his contrition was false, based on recorded phone calls from prison.
  • At one time, Hubbard was arguably the most powerful politician in the state before he was convicted of 12 counts – six were overturned. At issue was Hubbard using his position as Speaker of the House to secure business for his companies.

4. Alabama’s Republican lawmakers back McCarthy

  • Every member of the Alabama Republican congressional delegation stood firm and voted for now-Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) but U.S. Rep. Mike Rogers (R-Saks) was his most vocal and animated defender. Rogers had announced that he would be stepping down from the GOP Steering Committee. which he claims has nothing to do with his confrontation with Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) on the House floor.
  • But the joke was on everyone because Rogers changed his mind and will stay on the steering committee, this means the guy threatening members last week will help make decisions this week about what committee seats members will get.

3. Madison Count war zone

  • Two people have been arrested after more than 200 rounds were fired at a surprise 21st birthday party at Legacy Events in Madison County. Thirteen people were shot – two were killed and 11 were injured at a scene Madison County Sheriff Kevin Turner said there were so many shots fired at, “You literally could not take a step without stepping on a shell casing.”
  • The two arrested individuals will not be the only people targeted by law enforcement as multiple weapons, handguns and rifles, of different calibers were fired by multiple people. Turner also would not say the shooting was gang- or drug-related but noted that it was not “random.”

2. Biden is getting crushed for not being helpful enough to the migrants at the border

  • The American media and President Joe Biden’s liberal allies continue to be angry that he is daring to go to the Mexican border and not helping more people come into the country illegally to claim asylum and let them stay. His indirect non-action is not good enough, he must help them invade the country.
  • The White House press corps laments the messages they get from Democrat activists and then dutifully passes those concerns on under the framing that the Biden administration is worse to migrants than Trump and demands they receive government assistance. The disconnect between what the people want – border enforcement – and what the elite want – safer immigration and more services – could not be more clear.

1. Biden’s documents are fine and Hunter did nothing wrong

  • For months, we have been told an overnight raid on Mar-a-Lago, the home of former U.S. President Donald Trump, was necessary because he kept classified documents the National Archivist wanted. Unfortunately for the media and their Democrats, Biden took classified documents while he was vice president, without declassification authority, and left them in an office that was still open as part of the Penn Biden Center for Diplomacy and Foreign Engagement “work” in Washington, D.C. Biden claimed he was a “full professor” but was not, he still made $900,000 while pretending to work there.
  • Of course, the media and their Democrats insist that this is totally, completely different because Biden had fewer than Trump, a smaller number were secret, none were nuclear or being sold to the Russians, and Biden left them in an office while Trump had his at home. More galling, this was all found last fall, while closing out an office that was part of the Penn partnership with Biden that ended years ago, but was still being maintained until last year, and the American people were not told.
