7 Things: Bidenflation up big on everything, Alabama Republicans warn there’s an immigration problem that’s going to get worse and more …

7. Alabama principal on leave for threatening student

  • The principal at Hazelwood Elementary School, Datie Priest, has been placed on administrative leave after it was alleged that she threatened and abused an autistic 3rd-grade student. There have also been complaints of Priest arriving up to an hour late almost daily and leaving before buses have completed their routes.

  • The abuse allegations stem from a March 4 incident where Priest excessively paddled the student. In a reprimand letter, Lawrence County Superintendent Jon Bret Smith also said that at one point, Priest “told the two employees you would ‘throat punch’ the student if he ran into you again,” which happened after the autistic student bumped into Priest.

6. Biden is waiving ethanol rule — it will have almost no impact

  • In an effort to lower gas prices, President Joe Biden will be temporarily removing the high-ethanol rule on gasoline to hopefully bring more gasoline into the market as prices continue to increase.

  • Typically, there is a ban on 15% ethanol blend from June 1 to September 15, while currently, most gasoline contains 10% ethanol. It’s expected that temporarily removing the ban will, on average, save 10 cents per gallon across 2,300 gas stations.

5. Biden calls what Putin is doing “genocide”

  • President Joe Biden has repeatedly called Russian President Vladimir Putin a “war criminal,” and now, he has crossed another rhetorical line and referred to the war taking place in Ukraine as “genocide.” Genocide is defined as “the deliberate killing of a large number of people from a particular nation or ethnic group with the aim of destroying that nation or group.”
  • Biden’s former boss, former President Barack Obama, recently gave his thoughts on the situation and Russian President Vladimir Putin. He said that “with the invasion of Ukraine, is him being reckless in a way that you might not have anticipated eight, 10 years ago, but you know, the danger was always there.”

4. Brooks, Aderholt, Carl call to investigate Hunter Biden

  • U.S. Representatives Mo Brooks (R-Huntsville), Robert Aderholt (R-Haleyville) and Jerry Carl (R-Mobile) have sent a letter to U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland calling for an investigation into President Joe Biden’s son, Hunter Biden. There were 92 other representatives on the letter as well.

  • In the letter, the congressmen write, “It is increasingly clear that Hunter Biden took advantage of his father’s position as Vice President to develop business relationships with clients in Ukraine, China, and Kazakhstan…We believe that in the case of Hunter Biden a Special Counsel must be appointed to preserve the integrity of this investigation and any subsequent prosecution.”

3. Biden is trying to boost illegal immigration

  • While on Fox News Channel’s “The Ingraham Angle,” Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall discussed President Joe Biden’s stance on illegal immigration and his current lawsuit against the administration for not enforcing immigration laws.

  • Marshall said they’ve “seen in multiple efforts by Alabama and other states in pushing back on the immigration efforts of this administration where they’re continuing to lose in court,” adding, “[I]t’s an outrage that we had to file the case this week just to simply get the Biden administration to do their job.” Marshall went on to say that Biden and his administration are working to increase illegal immigration in the country.

2. Ivey isn’t on board with Biden’s immigration plans

  • Governor Kay Ivey has released a television ad for her reelection campaign where she stands against President Joe Biden’s immigration policies, by saying, “If Joe Biden keeps shipping illegal immigrants into our states, we’re all going to have to learn Spanish.”

  • Ivey continues in her ad, “My message to Biden: No way, Jose. That’s why I sent National Guard troops to protect the southern border. And that’s why we banned sanctuary cities in Alabama. The left can try to cancel me – I don’t care. But here in Alabama, we’re going to enforce the law.”

1. Inflation is up big; Biden still blaming others for higher prices

  • The latest consumer price index should scare every working American as wages are not keeping up with inflation and the numbers continue to grow. The numbers show 8.5% inflation year-over-year, hitting a 40-year high, a 1.2% inflation month-over-month, the highest since 2005. Since March 2021, gas is up 48.8%, electricity is up 11.1%, used cars are up 35.3%, ground beef is up 13.8%, bacon is up 18.2%, eggs are up 11.2% and coffee is up 11.2%.

  • The excuses have flown pretty freely from President Joe Biden, his administration and the media. The “real” culprits are now Russian President Vladimir Putin, oil companies, beef companies, people who didn’t support the “Build Back Better” spending bill and basically anyone who disagrees with Biden. All of this follows a year-plus of rhetoric about transitory inflation of a great economy.
