7 Things: Alabama Democrat finally goes down for corruption; media more interested in policing Britt than the border; and more …

7. Alabama’s most embarrassing sports columnist is suggesting that college sports, NCAA events, the SEC itself will all be unable to exist in the state of Alabama if DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) initiatives are banned. This is not a repeat of a similar theory on issues of bathrooms, gender surgery for minors, gay marriage, or voting laws, it just sounds like it because white writers love telling you they know what is best for everyone because they cover sports for a really pitiful living.

6. The new FBI Headquarters at Redstone Arsenal is fully funded despite media reports to the contrary. The facility was finalized in 2023’s budgets and that is the reason there is no additional funding in the 2024 budgets. The office of U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) says this is all not what it seemed, “spending bill passed by Congress on Friday included a budget gimmick that appeared to reduce funding for the FBI’s Redstone location, but in reality, it did not claw back funds that have already been signed into law to fund construction of the facility.”

5. Gambling bill sponsor State Sen. Greg Albritton (R-Atmore) seems as if he is begrudgingly going along with gambling winds in the state as the two legislative chambers have both passed two different pieces of legislation. Albritton hopes the end result is an expansion of gambling that regulates the illegal gaming happening in this state right now, “We’ve got to find, and I hope we have, a means so that Alabama can exercise its duty in grabbing that industry and controlling it.”

4. Special counsel looking into President Joe Biden’s handling of classified documents Robert Hur left the Department of Justice one day before his appearance before Congress on his decision not to charge Biden for improper storage of classified documents. Expect a lot of questions about Biden’s mental state and ability to be president after Hur declared he was too mental-addled to be charged with crimes for his behavior.

3. The Alabama-based U.S. Space Camp is drawing a lot of negative attention from LibsofTikTok and from members of Congress after they were alerted to a biological male staff member entering areas with female students. A parent has alerted others with students at Space Camp to this with a viral social media post that highlights the employee’s social media posts that are highly sexualized.

2. The media push against U.S. Sen. Katie Britt (R-Montgomery) for daring to call out President Joe Biden’s failures at the border continue after we have already seen personal attacks and claims of “lies,” which are not lies. The latest twist is that Karla Jacinto Romero, the woman Britt referenced, is angry at Britt for placing her image over actual action. But this makes little sense as Britt is calling out the Biden administration, while the media, and their Democrats don’t care because they are more interested in focusing on anyone who points out what a disgrace this current situation is and policing their language.

1. State Rep. John Rogers (D-Birmingham) has had an interesting and accusation-filled tenure in the Alabama State House. However, after a guilty plea in a federal fraud case, his time is over. Rogers pleaded guilty for conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud, as well as conspiracy to obstruct justice as part of a scheme aimed at defrauding the Jefferson County Community Service Fund.
