Great Southern Wood Preserving and its flagship YellaWood last week fed all of the employees at Flowers Hospital and Southeast Health, both located in Dothan.
According to WDHN, YellaWood owner and founder Jimmy Rane generously bought approximately 2,100 total employees a meal each for five days.
Every employee across every department in both hospitals reportedly received a sack lunch from a Wiregrass Chick-fil-A, as well as a pastry from Abbeville’s Kava Coffee Company, all free of charge.
Hospital administrators and staff explained to WDHN how important the YellaWood donation was.
“You may go eight to twelve hours and not get to go to the restroom or get anything to eat,” Flowers Hospital emergency room nursing director Amanda Powers told the television station. “So knowing that somebody is taking the time send us some food, it nourishes you physically — and also spiritually and emotionally.”
“Both hospitals, along with Chick-fil-A and Kava Coffee Company, gave big thanks to YellaWood founder Jimmy Rane for the generous donation,” WDHN reported.
