WHOA: Trump Endorses Strange in Heated Alabama Senate Race

In a tweet posted Tuesday night President Donald Trump endorsed Luther Strange for the Alabama Senate Seat. In a race where each candidate has vehemently argued their undying support for the President, it seems the President has made his choice.

With three conservative front-runners in a state where Trump was elected by an unprecedented margin, the Alabama senate race has essentially come down to who supports the President more: Luther Strange, Mo Brooks, or Roy Moore.

Strange has enjoyed support from well-known conservative organizations including the NRA and National Right to Life. Brooks has run ads highlighting a $2,500 donation he made to the Alabama GOP that he claims was used to help Trump’s campaign. Moore has likewise expressed his support for Trump’s agenda, but acknowledges that in order to “Make America Great Again” we must “Make America Good Again.”

So far the back and forth of who supported who has lacked the one obvious option–that of the President.

This endorsement changes the discussion from who supports Trump to who Trump supports, and in a state that overwhelmingly supported the President, that endorsement may well be a game changer.
