BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Every year cell service providers vie to lead in overall performance reviews, hoping to convince customers that their service is superior to the competition. As cell phones become more and more ubiquitous in daily life, companies strive to entice customers with marketing schemes such as catchy slogans and witty commercials.
But at the end of the day it’s all about the quality of service and overall performance that keeps customers coming back. According to the Seattle-based RootMetrics, a company that evaluates mobile network performances, Alabama’s Verizon Wireless network is the leader in overall performance among cell service providers.
Verizon was tested and compared alongside other cell phone service providers including AT&T, T-Mobile, and Sprint between January and June of this year. In Alabama, Verizon beat competing service providers in the categories of network reliability, network speed, data, and call performance. The rankings of the four mobile networks rely on scores calculated from random samples across all available network types.
Based in New York City and incorporated in Delaware, Verizon Communications, Inc., was formed on June 30, 2000.
