It has become fashionable to say that riot at the U.S. Capitol on January 6 was an “insurrection” or a “coup” and to claim the continued questions about the 2020 election are part of a “slow-motion coup.”
Missing from this conversation is any self-awareness from the people saying these things about how they reacted after the 2016 election when they breathlessly supported using the levers of government to target Donald Trump during the campaign and then investigate him after he won.
