Jacksonville State basketball player Norbertas Giga left Lithuania for the United States in 2013 to play basketball and has not seen his family since.

That changed this week when Giga went to watch film with coaches to prepare for the upcoming Ohio Valley Conference Tournament.

JSU coaches sat Giga down, and in walked his mother.

A stunned Giga tried to turn away to hide his tears before the two hugged for the first time in more than four years.

“I’m just speechless right now,” Giga said of the surprise. “I’m just happy for her to be here and just happy for her to see me play on the big stage.”
