5 DAYS REMAINING IN THE 2024 ALABAMA LEGISLATIVE SESSION

U.S. Senate hopeful Jessica Taylor urges Republican voters to elect ‘true conservatives’ to ‘take back’ GOP

According to U.S. Senate candidate Jessica Taylor, the Republican Party being united in its efforts to combat the policies of the Biden administration begins with electing what she referred to as “true conservatives.”

During a Wednesday interview with Montgomery’s News Talk 93.1FM WACV, Taylor identified what she saw as the need to elect “real conservatives” to retake control of the Republican Party and rein in federal spending.

The candidate, who has made reducing the federal budget a central theme of her campaign, suggested that Republicans must evaluate the voting records of incumbent officeholders.

“I think it first starts with making sure that we can get as many real conservatives elected as possible, and making sure that those within our own party who are just adamant that we need to pass these ridiculous spending measures are held accountable,” said Taylor. “So we’ve got to take back our own party first and make sure we’ve got true conservatives and start from there.”

Taylor expressed her desire for Republican voters to participate in the primary election process rather than waiting to support the party’s nominees in the general election.

“[T]hat’s why primary elections are so important. You know, a lot of people just say that want to wait and see who gets through the primary and they’ll support the Republican candidate… I don’t agree with that plan,” proclaimed Taylor. “Especially in a state where we know most likely the Republican is going to be the winner in November, it’s that much more important that we get the right person. So we have to make sure that we’re sending real conservatives to represent us.”

Earlier this year, Taylor launched “NextGen Conservatives PAC” in an effort to help the Republican Party regain control of the U.S. House of Representatives.
