U.S. Rep. Barry Moore (R-Enterprise) and U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) are continuing to speak out against the threat of radical Islamism in America.

The lawmakers joined 16 other members of the Sharia-Free America Caucus in holding the group’s first press conference. The lawmakers laid out the case against Sharia Law, stating it’s a culture of violence and domination incompatible with the U.S. Constitution and American values.

“Sharia law targets women, religious minorities and political dissenters,” Moore said. “The principles of Sharia law are fundamentally incompatible with our Constitution’s rights and our legal protections under the law. Due process and freedom of speech. That’s what Sharia law is against.”

Moore, who is also a candidate for the U.S. Senate, said this is a proactive measure to uphold American laws and values.

“No foreign or religious legal code should ever influence American courts or create a parallel system of justice,” he argued. “Sharia law must not be allowed to override the Constitution. America doesn’t bend itself to radical ideologies. And we must always protect liberty and the United States of America.”

Tuberville warned that the U.S. could eventually look like Europe, which he argues has been overrun by radical Islamists.

“What’s happened to our brethren overseas in Europe? They’ve lost it,” Tuberville said. “They’ve lost their way of life. And to get it back, [do you know] how they’re gonna have to get it back? They’re going to fight on the streets. They’re going to [have to] take it back if they want to take it back. And I don’t know whether their leadership wants that. But by God, we’re not gonna let that happen in our country. We’re not gonna let it get to that point. We’re gonna recognize it, and we’re gonna fight back before that gets to that point.”

Tuberville has introduced two bills to root out the evils of Sharia Law from this country, the No Sharia Act and the Preserving a Sharia Free America Act.
