Coach Tuberville was back in Auburn over the weekend cheering on the Tigers.
The Tigers earned a massive victory on the basketball court on Sunday night over the Kentucky Wildcats in a thrilling 75-74 last second win, one that snapped a five-game losing streak and got the Tigers back on track.
Steven Pearl’s team was in some serious danger of missing the NCAA Tournament and beating Kentucky drastically reduces those chances.
In the stands to witness the huge win was former Auburn head football coach and current gubernatorial candidate for the state of Alabama, Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn).

Tuberville got to witness what was a second half comeback for the Tigers after trailing at halftime and a controversial call in the game’s final seconds to allow Auburn to finish Kentucky off.
It was one of the final opportunities of the season for the Tigers to build their resume and — barring something unforeseen — likely takes them off bubble status, securely placing them in the NCAA Tournament field.
Leading the way on offense was KeShawn Murphy with 25 points and 10 rebounds, eight of them coming on the offensive end.
Next up for Auburn is a road trip to Oklahoma before returning home on the weekend for Ole Miss. The team will close the final week of the year with a home game against LSU as well as a road trip to Tuscaloosa to try to avoid the season sweep against Alabama.
