Tide and Tigers fall in latest AP Poll

In the wake of 1-1 weeks for Alabama and Auburn, the men’s basketball teams have fallen in this week’s AP Top 25.

Auburn was defeated by Tennessee in Knoxville last Wednesday before dominating Mississippi State on Saturday, but the Tigers slipped from No. 11 to 13.

Alabama, who defeated Ole Miss on the road last Wednesday and fell at home to Tennessee on Saturday, dropped from No. 14 to 16.

Both teams have two games left in the regular season – tonight and Saturday. Alabama has a road matchup in Gainesville against Florida tonight and Auburn will hit the road against lowly Missouri, who is 0-16 in conference play.

Both teams end the year this weekend on relatively light notes as well.

Alabama will host Arkansas, who has been one of the biggest disappointments in the conference. Saturday.

Auburn will take on Georgia, who they defeated handily in Athens, at home to close out their regular season.

The big matchup of the week is Wednesday night when Tennessee visits South Carolina in a game that could decide the SEC regular season title.
