There will be a showdown in Birmingham this weekend — salsa style.
The annual Salsa Showdown is set for Saturday and will be hosted by Birmingham’s Sidewalk Film Center + Cinema. The competition, now in its 13th year, features some of the top salsa, guac, queso, and specialty dips in the city.
The Showdown is scheduled for 2-6 p.m. Saturday at the Cahaba Brewing Co. Salsa samplings will be available for visitors to taste and cast ballots for the event’s “Audience Choice” award.
“This event is a festive way to highlight some of the best bites across Birmingham as well as raise money for Sidewalk’s year-round educational programs,” said Chloe Cook, Sidewalk Film Center + Cinema executive director. “We are excited about this year’s participants and look forward to seeing attendees determine who offers the best dips in the Magic City.”
