Tabitha Isner calls out Joe Reed again, accuses him of illegal ‘electioneering’

Alabama Democratic Party Vice Chair Tabitha Isner is claiming that she has evidence that one of her chief political rivals in her own party is corrupt.

In a Facebook post Tuesday, Isner accused Alabama Democratic Conference Chairman Joe Reed of illegal “electioneering.”

“Any organization that endorses candidates and spends money to persuade voters to support particular candidates is engaged in ‘electioneering.’ That organization must register with the state and report its expenditures to the Alabama FCPA,” Isner said. “Guess who’s engaged in electioneering but not reporting any expenditures to the FCPA?”

This is the second time in a week that Isner has gone after Reed over dirty election practices. She recently posted a photo of a 2018 campaign check she says is proof of an old shakedown attempt by ADC chairman Joe Reed. Also in 2023, Isner called an ADP executive committee meeting a “sham” after party leadership, at Reed’s direction, stripped voting power from the youth, LGBTQ and disabled caucuses.

Reed is also the party’s Minority Affairs Committee, and has been involved in several clashes with members of his own party in the Yellowhammer State.

Former U.S. Sen. Doug Jones has called for Reed to “just retire,” over how he’s been running the party in recent years.
