‘Strong case for common sense policies’: Chairman Wahl commends Dobson for debate performance

Caroleene Dobson took on Democrat Shomari Figures in an online streamed debate on Thursday hosted by AL.com. The two candidates are currently locked in a close contest vying to become the first-ever Congressional representative of Alabama’s newly redrawn second district.

After the debate, Republicans from across the state praised Dobson’s performance and said that it showed her understanding of the challenges being presented to Alabama families.

According to Alabama Republican Party Chairman John Wahl, Dobson not only demonstrated her knowledge of the adversity facing residents in the second district but also articulated possible solutions to those problems.

“Our nation is facing many serious issues, and Caroleene Dobson’s debate performance highlights why she is the leader that can best serve the people of District 2 in Washington,” said Wahl. “From standing up for Alabama families to tackling inflation, crime, and education, Caroleene showed that she understands the challenges facing everyday Alabamians and has the solutions to address them.”

“She made a strong case for common-sense policies to lower the cost of groceries, protect our neighborhoods from violent crime, secure the U.S. southern border, and safeguard our children’s education. Throughout the debate, she highlighted the failures of Washington insiders like her opponent—who was involved in the disastrous clemency program that led to violent criminals being released back onto the streets.”

Wahl believes Dobson is more than ready for the job should she win.

“The citizens of District 2 deserve a representative who will put the people first again, and Caroleene showed she is ready to do just that. Her commitment to rebuilding our economy, restoring safer committees, and defending the values of the Second District was on full display.”

“This debate showed voters a clear choice between failed Washington politics and a leader who will fight for them in Congress.”
