Cam Newton, former Auburn University quarterback and Heisman Trophy winner, is set to host a new TV show this summer on Nickelodeon where he’ll help kids achieve their dreams.

All In with Cam Newton” premiers Friday, June 3 and will feature Newton helping kids across the country achieve their goals and dreams. He will meet with 34 kids over the course of the show, talk to them about their dreams and goals, and pair them with mentors. And of course, Cam will be along for the ride.

“Cam’s just an incredibly engaging person,” Jeff Sutphen, a Nickelodeon actor/producer working on the show, told ESPN in March. “He’s kind of a big kid himself, so it’s very easy for him to roll into someone’s house and go, ‘Oh my gosh!’

“It’s kind of like watching two kids play and try to figure out how to do things.”

The show was originally announced in September of 2015. Neither Newton nor Nickelodeon knew that the Carolina Panthers would make it all the way to the Super Bowl this year and Cam would be the NFL’s most valuable player. But even in the wake of his success, Newton remained committed to spend 30 days of his off-season filming the 20-episode series.

“That speaks for his passion for today’s youth,” Sutphen said. “He could have gone on vacation or just laid around and relaxed.

“Keep in mind he’s got a newborn kid (born Christmas Eve) himself. It is a huge commitment, and he’s all-in.”

The boys and girls that will appear on the show have dreams of doing great things in a wide range of professions and activities, including baking, science, fashion design, BMX bike riding, and more. Newton gets down and dirty with the kids as they learn new skills and perfect their crafts.

“Time in the spotlight has made me realize the importance of creating positive messages to inspire the next generation. I’m very passionate about mentoring young people, and this show will be the perfect opportunity to help talented kids get the chance to pursue their dreams. And to be able to do it all on Nickelodeon – a network I grew up watching – is extremely exciting,” Newton said in Nickelodeon’s original press release.

Newton is just one of a few professional athletes that are partnering with Nickelodeon this year. New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski will be a part of a Nick show called “Crashletes,” and New York Knicks star Carmelo Anthony is partnering with the network for a clothing line.

Newton, whose infectious energy and passion on the football field was one of the most-talked about stories this past season, is a perfect fit for Nickelodeon.

“I just see how he’s able to come in and relate to every kid,” Sutphen said. “No matter what their area of expertise is, he’s got something they can tie it back to and relate to his career and his upbringing and how he got to where he is.

“That’s his big thing. He wants to say, ‘Hey, I had help getting to where I am. I want to see if I can return that favor and help these kids get to where they want to be.'”
