Senate Democrats block resolution condemning violence against Tesla – Blackburn calls ‘domestic terrorism’

Democrats in the U.S. Senate blocked a resolution Thursday that condemned the violence and domestic terrorism against Tesla owners and dealerships put forward by U.S. Senator Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.)

Several Tesla car dealerships have been vandalized by radical leftists who are upset at Elon Musk and his Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

The senator’s resolution simply stated that “the Senate condemns the horrific acts of violence, arson, and domestic terrorism committed against electric vehicles, car dealerships, and charging stations throughout the United States.”

Blackburn discussed the issue Thursday on Talk Radio 102.3’s “Yaffee Live.”

“The Democrats objected to it,” Blackburn said. “And what we are watching is this domestic terrorism play out across the country. It is political violence, and they objected to the resolution. And the resolution is not even a page long…and we can’t even get them to agree to condemn those actions.”

The senator said the Democrats who blocked it have proven themselves to be hypocrites.

“I thought they would support this because they should condemn violence,” she argued. “But we saw many of them when the BLM riots occurred, they didn’t condemn that either. And so it’s just really disappointing that these attacks that are being carried out against individuals and against places of employment, or maybe it’s the city that is put in EV chargers, or, you know, a parking lot at a large shopping center, and they’ve put in chargers and for people to go and torch those and to destroy them And to ruin people’s private property. Of course, that should be denounced.”

Blackburn said the Democratic Party will not do anything that might be perceived as helping President Trump.

“I think that what they are doing is disappointing and to say the least,” she said. “And what we have to realize is that they do not want to do anything that is going to support President Donald Trump and his agenda. They don’t want to take an action that is going to support DOGE and reduction spending reductions, which are absolutely necessary. So what we will continue to do is to push to right-size this government, to get the spending under control and to make certain that the we remain a free nation. We’re coming up on our 250th birthday. I want us to be in better shape than ever when we celebrate that birthday.”
