U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) is once again sounding the alarm on the threat of Radical Islam to America’s national security.
Tuberville, who is also a candidate for governor in 2026, explained on the Senate Floor Tuesday why he believes the U.S. should ban Sharia Law.
“I ruffled some feathers a few weeks ago when I came to the Senate floor to talk about what I believe is the greatest national security threat facing the United States of America: Radical Islam and Sharia Law,” Tuberville said. “The Democrats and the Mainstream Media—they’ve been coming after me ever since I started talking about this subject. But after spending 40 years coaching, I don’t really care what people think about me. I love this country and I wanna save this country for our kids and our grandkids.”
In the speech, Tuberville discussed the two bills he recently introduced to root out the evils of Sharia Law from this country, the No Sharia Act and the Preserving a Sharia Free America Act.
“I was back in Alabama this weekend and I heard from countless Alabamians who told me they are 100% behind what I’m talking about,” he continued. “At the end of the day, I work for the great people of Alabama and the great people of this country, not the pearl-clutching media that is out there hammering me every day. Speaking of Alabama, I’m proud that the Yellowhammer State banned radical Sharia Law a long time ago.”
The No Sharia Act would prohibit courts from enforcing judgments, decrees, or contracts relying on foreign laws that violate the Constitution, invalidate contract provisions based on foreign laws if they violate Constitutional rights, and bar application of marriage, divorce, custody, adoption, or inheritance if inconsistent with U.S. law.
“Further, under the U.S. Constitution and the First Amendment, equal rights for people of all faiths are protected,” he argued. “Western culture treats everyone equal, regardless of their religious beliefs. Under Sharia Law, if you are not a Muslim, you are treated as the enemy. Radical Islam says you can discriminate against and even be violent towards non-Muslims. We see that happening now in Europe where non-Muslims are being violently attacked every day all over Europe. It’s because Sharia Law not only accepts, but encourages this type of disgusting behavior.”
The Preserving a Sharia Free America Act would deny or revoke any immigration benefit, visa, immigration relief, or admission to the U.S. to any alien who advocates for Sharia Law in a way that is incompatible with the Constitution, prevent activist courts and judges from upending a final decision from agencies that find Sharia Law adherents removable from the U.S., and ensure that any alien who presents false statements about his or her advocacy of Sharia Law, which would violate a person’s rights under the Constitution, to any federal agency, would have his or her immigration benefits, immigration relief, or visa revoked.
“This isn’t a Republican or Democrat issue,” Tuberville concluded. “This is an American issue. Just look at Europe. We are headed down the same dark path as what Europe’s going through now if we don’t wake up. We need to permanently shut down Sharia Law in this country before it’s too late. Wake up America.”
