Secretary of State hopeful Wes Allen lands Manufacture Alabama endorsement

Wednesday, Manufacture Alabama announced its endorsement of State Rep. Wes Allen’s (R-Troy) candidacy for Alabama Secretary of State.

Manufacture Alabama is the state’s only trade association solely focused on representing the interests of the industry. Its membership includes a wide range of companies that conduct business in Alabama.

Manufacture Alabama president George Clark in a release touted Allen’s service in the legislature and said the state would be well served with him serving as Alabama’s chief elections official.

“Manufacture Alabama is endorsing Wes Allen for Secretary of State due to his unwavering commitment to the State of Alabama and its citizens,” stated Clark. “As a member of the House of Representatives, Wes has supported issues critical to the success of our state’s manufacturing industry and he brings the necessary skill set and experience to effectively oversee Alabama’s business filings process and to ensure that our elections are secure. On behalf of our members, we are pleased to support Wes Allen with our endorsement for Secretary of State.”

Allen hailed the endorsement from Manufacture Alabama and spoke to the vital role that the Secretary of State’s Office plays in business filings.

“I am honored to receive the endorsement of Manufacture Alabama,” said Allen. “The Secretary of State’s Office is critical to the business activities of Alabama’s businesses, large and small, through the office’s business services section. I am committed to making the interactions that businesses and individuals have with the Secretary of State’s Office as efficient and customer-friendly as possible.”

Manufacture Alabama’s endorsement of Allen’s candidacy adds to the growing list of key organizations that are backing the secretary of state hopeful. Allen has also been endorsed by the Alabama Forestry Association and the Alabama Farmers Federation.

The primary election will occur on May 24, 2022.
