Sec of State Merrill rejects Mike Lindell claims of Alabama election discrepancies — ‘We know that no issues have been reported, and none exist’

Earlier this week, MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell insisted Alabamians should be concerned about the machines used to tally votes in elections.

Lindell argued that despite safeguards put in place in Alabama for elections, votes could be flipped unknowingly by those machines.

During an appearance on FM Talk 106.5’s “The Jeff Poor Show,” Secretary of State John Merrill responded to Lindell and dismissed the possibility that such issues are present.

“There’s no doubt about it — Mr. Lindell is very passionate about what he is trying to do, which is expose inconsistencies, irregularities or concerns that he believes are out there in the states in the union that participated in the general election in 2020,” Merrill said. “He believes that there are concerns in every state in the union. He’s entitled to his own opinion, and I will say this — you know, you said ‘self-proclaimed expert in elections.’ I’m confident that nobody in the United States as an individual has spent more money, more personal money on elections and election research than he has since December of last year. He told me when he came to the office a couple of days ago that he spent $15 million of his own money so far on this effort.”

“But look, Jeff — we’ve been as transparent, we’ve been as accountable as possible,” Merrill continued. “We will let anybody see what they want to see and understand about our process. We know that all of the equipment that we used is top-notch equipment that has been certified by people who are experts in these fields of elections, who are people who generate the equipment that is used in the field of elections, and we have never had a problem with any of the equipment that we have used. And we are confident the equipment performs at the level of our expectations, which is we will not have concerns or issues. And we know that the equipment was built to our specifications according to the request for proposals that we presented to all vendors when we wanted them to let us know if they wanted to do business with us. And we’re very confident that we’re where we are. We know none of our equipment is connected to the internet. We know it cannot be probed. We know it cannot be corrupted. We know that no issues have been reported, and none exist.”
