Scott Chambers announced as news director of Yellowhammer Network News

Yellowhammer Network News has announced the appointment of Scott Chambers to serve as the organization’s news director. Chambers, a 22-year veteran of broadcast news, previously served as anchor and director of network operations.

The Alabama-raised news professional is a successful voice actor appearing in national TV commercials for some of the most nationally-recognized brands. He has voiced network TV promotions, political campaigns and TV news promotions. Chambers has also served as the radio imaging voice for radio stations in North America and the United Kingdom.

Chambers, who launched his broadcast career at age 17, was recently nominated for two voice-over industry performance awards, which is the Oscars for voice-over actors.

As news director, Chambers will be responsible for the quality, integrity and editorial operations of the news network. The YHN News broadcasts hourly news updates to radio station affiliates across Alabama each weekday and has recently launched a weekend news product.

Additionally, Chambers is the founding anchor of YHN’s most recently launched news division, the Gulf State News Network, broadcasting to the Gulf Coast of Florida. He brings years of broadcast and voice acting experience to millions daily.

Allison Ross, an owner of Yellowhammer Multimedia, sang the praises of Chambers and lauded his years of service to the organization’s broadcast operations.

“Scott is a consummate professional,” said Ross. “He has been a vital part of the Yellowhammer organization since he began as a radio host several years ago. We are grateful to have his accountability and work ethic at the helm of our broadcast team and are confident in the quality product that will continue under his leadership.”

Chambers looks forward to leading Alabama’s premier news outlet’s broadcast service.

“I’m excited to take the reigns as news director for YHN news,” said Chambers. “My goal is to continue serving our radio affiliates and listeners with the most accurate radio news product in Alabama. Reporting the news isn’t always easy. Sometimes it’s sad, sometimes silly, and a lot of the time it’s not what people want to hear, but if it’s from YHN, I’ll guarantee it is factual. No hype, just facts.”
