Rep. Barry Moore: ‘There’s going to be civil unrest’ if Donald Trump wins

U.S. Rep. Barry Moore (R-Enterprise) is warning that a victory in November by former President Trump could result in “civil unrest” by left-wing extremists upset at the result. Moore, who has been a longtime supporter of Trump, spoke to reporters after a Montgomery Chamber of Commerce breakfast meeting on Wednesday.

“There’s going to be civil unrest,” Moore said. “I think there was civil unrest the first time he was sworn in January 2017. I was in DC. I saw. We’re going to have to couple that with the media not always being fair to the man and certainly the left doesn’t like him. And then our adversaries around the globe and the interest and the debt that we’ve already dug with this border. It’s going to take some time to round up 9 or 10 million people to improve our border security.”

He also told reporters that he hopes there won’t be any cheating in this election to defeat Trump. “We certainly don’t want the federal government picking our next elected official,” he said. We want to have a fair election process.”

During the meeting, Moore blasted the Biden administration’s current policies causing inflation. “When energy fuel costs goes up,” he said, “folks, everything you do, whether you build a house and when you buy a car, the parts that go into that — the petroleum investment in there is higher.”

Rep. Moore said it will be up to Trump to turn things around because he “had the greatest economy we’ve ever seen in the world for three years.”

“If Trump wins, it’s going to take us some time. I was there when he was sworn in on January 20, 2017 and the city was burning that day. Cars were on fire. Glass was being broke out and the man had not yet sat in the oval office. It’s going to be a tough time for our country,” he added.
