In the aftermath of the devastating tornadoes that tore through parts of the Midwest and Southeast on March 14 and 15, Regions Bank has launched a series of financial services to support affected individuals and businesses.
The bank announced Thursday that it is providing a range of disaster-recovery services in impacted communities across Alabama, Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Missouri. As damage assessments continue, additional areas may be added.
“Our teams have experience serving communities in good times and bad, and in addition to the options we’re announcing today, we’re also ready to listen to your unique needs and see where we can help,” said John Jordan, head of Retail for Regions Bank. “Our hearts are with everyone impacted, and we are here to support people, families, and businesses as recovery moves forward.”
Among the financial relief measures, Regions is offering special loan programs and fee waivers, including:
- Mortgage Disaster Relief Purchase and Renovation loan programs.
- Waived ATM surcharges for non-Regions customers using Regions ATMs in affected areas for seven days beginning March 20.
- Waived non-Regions ATM fees for Regions customers in the impacted areas for at least seven days (note: other banks’ fees may still apply).
- No check-cashing fees for FEMA-issued checks cashed in a Regions branch.
- Assistance for personal and business loan payments.
- Payment deferrals for credit card holders.
- Business loan payment deferrals of up to 90 days, expiring June 19, 2025.
- One penalty-free CD withdrawal upon request (unless within seven days of issuance or renewal), available for up to 90 days.
- Up to 0.50% interest rate discounts are available on new personal unsecured loans and non-business auto loans when applied for in-branch or by phone through June 19, 2025.
