BullsEye Public Affairs, a Capitol Resources company, announced they have added a talented new hire to its team of operatives. Reed Phillips, former executive director of the Alabama Republican Party (ALGOP), will bring more than a decade of knowledge and experience in political leadership to the firm.
“Reed did a terrific job for the Alabama Republican Party helping candidates win elections,” said Capitol Resources managing partner Henry Barbour. “He’s politically savvy, understands campaign tactics and strategy, and knows about every GOP activist and elected official in the State of Alabama. Reed will be a great asset to our corporate public affairs and political clients.”
Phillips said he’s excited to use the experience he gained during his time with the party to get successful outcomes for his portfolio of clients.
“I enjoyed my time at the Alabama Republican Party, and I am excited about taking the knowledge I’ve gained to run successful campaigns for corporate and political clients,” said Phillips. “The BullsEye and Capitol Resources teams have an outstanding reputation of integrity and getting the job done, and I am thrilled to be joining such a dynamic and accomplished group that is focused on winning.”

Phillips announced that he would be stepping down from his leadership position in the ALGOP close to two weeks ago. Shannon Whitt, the Director of Finance and Special Events, will be temporarily taking over the role.
“Reed Phillips has been an integral part of the Alabama Republican Party’s success,” said Alabama Republican Party Chairman John Wahl after Phillips’ exit. “His strategic vision and tireless efforts have helped lead our Party to new heights, and his contributions will leave a lasting legacy. While we will miss his leadership and friendship, we are excited for him as he takes on this new opportunity. We wish him nothing but success in the future.”
Phillips was also the political director of the ALGOP at one time prior to being named its executive director. In his service with the organization, he developed Party strategy and plans, managed daily operations, and worked closely with elected officials and candidates to boost the percentage of elected Republican-held positions in Alabama from 54% to 73%.
