WASHINGTON — Once again, a shot is taken at taken at a proposal to move the U.S. Space Command to Redstone Arsenal.
And, once again, Sen. Tommy Tuberville shoots down the incoming criticism.
The latest salvo came from the Washington Examiner this week in an editorial, “Keep US Space Command headquarters in Colorado.”
“This is no time to put politics before the Space Force’s needs. Biden should overturn Trump’s misguided decision and keep these headquarters where they belong,” the newspaper tweeted.

Along with citing “Space Force” in its tweet and image, the Examiner editorial also mixed Space Force with Space Command in several other spots:
- “Unless President Joe Biden takes urgent action, the Space Force will soon be undermined by a shift of location that will erode its readiness and capabilities and waste taxpayer money.”
- “Trump, imply (sic) to reward the loyalty of Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-AL), ordered that Space Force headquarters be relocated from Colorado to Alabama.”
- “… this is no time to put politics before the Space Force’s needs.”
Tuberville answered in a Tweet, “Using misleading Democrat talking points, today the @dcexaminer wrote the latest attack on @US_SpaceCom’s move to Huntsville.”
The senator also linked his Washington Post op-ed in the tweet.

Here’s the reality: moving SPACECOM is based on facts.
Data proved Huntsville is the #1 choice.

Tuberville has previously tweeted, answering the Examiner‘s claims about putting politics aside, “Three separate government studies confirm Space Command belongs in Rocket City. If Joe Biden overrules the Air Force, it will be Washington at its worst – a president putting politics above the facts.”
