Residents of Alabama’s 2nd Congressional District are facing a deluge of political advertisements ahead of November 3, with Democrat spending significantly outpacing Republicans.
But the heavy disparity in advertising isn’t because of grassroots donors — it comes down to two left-wing billionaires heavily investing in incumbent U.S. Rep. Shomari Figures (D-Mobile).

This morning, Punchbowl News morning reported that Michael Bloomberg, the New York centi-billionaire who unsuccessfully ran as a Democrat for president, has sent an “infusion of cash” to Democratic Majority for Israel’s super PAC. That super PAC is set to spend $2 million for Figures, according to the national news outlet.
This comes after billionaire Illinois Governor JB Pritzker’s super PAC, Ready for the Fight, has spent over $1.4 million on advertising in support of Figures in recent weeks.
Former U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) is also one of Figures’ top financial backers.
