PowerSouth Energy Cooperative, in preparation of future retirements and to better align its external affairs functions to serve its members, has announced that Taylor Williams will be promoted to director of external affairs.

In the new role, he will be charged with overseeing the cooperative’s external affairs, including governmental affairs, economic development and community development initiatives.

In announcing the organizational change, PowerSouth president/CEO Gary Smith touted the promotion as a focus on the cooperative’s long-term plans.

“Taylor has done an outstanding job for us in dealing with governmental agencies, political issues, economic development opportunities, and community development,” said Smith. “PowerSouth has assembled a talented governmental affairs, economic development, and community development team which serves us well today and will serve us better in the future.”
