Huntsville-based Radiance Technologies has won a position on a $14 billion contracting vehicle supporting the Missile and Space Intelligence Center at Redstone Arsenal.

The employee-owned defense contractor announced Wednesday that it was selected as an awardee on the Contract Operations for Missile Evaluation and Testing, or COMET, contract.

The multi-award contract carries a ceiling of more than $14 billion, allowing selected companies to compete for individual task orders supporting MSIC over the next decade.

Under COMET, contractors will support research, development and sustainment of hardware, software and other systems used in military intelligence.

The work spans five major areas: foundational and technical intelligence analysis, foreign materiel exploitation, information technology operations, modeling and simulation, and business processes. The contract period runs through January 2037.

MSIC, part of the Defense Intelligence Agency, analyzes foreign weapons systems and provides intelligence to military leaders, policymakers, weapons developers and the broader intelligence community.

Its work includes assessments of anti-tank guided missiles, air and missile defense systems, short-range ballistic missiles and anti-satellite weapons.

Radiance will lead its own team under COMET while also holding positions on two other teams selected for the contract, including one led by SAIC and another through its Radiance Ignite Technologies joint venture.

Founded in 1999 and headquartered in Huntsville, Radiance employs more than 1,200 employee-owners nationwide and provides cybersecurity, engineering, intelligence and other technical services to defense and intelligence agencies.
