Phenix City continues to show out at the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, winning an elimination game on Monday night after trailing West Chester 5-0 in extra innings.
In the bottom of the seventh, Brooks Cameron’s bases-loaded RBI single knocked in the winning run to keep Phenix City alive and continue to make the state of Alabama proud.

The most unique aspect of the iconic tournament has been the fact that the star player for Phenix City has been Kinley Rasmus, a 12-year-old girl who is the daughter of former MLB pitcher Cory Rasmus. She drove in the game tying run as well as pitching 4 2/3 scoreless innings of relief after entering the game with the score already 5-0.

Rasmus now has 14 strikeouts in the tournament, which ties Mo’ne Davis’ 2014 record for most strikeouts by a girl in a single Little League World Series.
The Phenix City team will try to stay alive once again on Tuesday afternoon, taking on Soundview of Tacoma, Washington in another elimination game where the entire state will be watching.
