During a House Oversight hearing Wednesday, U.S. Rep. Gary Palmer (R-Hoover) criticized the Department of Justice for its handling of allegations of criminal conduct by Hunter Biden.
Two IRS whistleblowers, Gary Shapley and Joseph Ziegler, testified to the committee about how they believe the DOJ blocked any investigations into Biden.
“This is clear evidence of a coverup by the so-called Department of Justice,” Palmer said about the hearing on Twitter.

Palmer questioned Shapley about some of the allegations.
“Was there other evidence in this investigation that you were denied access to?” Palmer asked.
“Yes there was,” Shapely said. “One piece was the Hunter Biden laptop. There is a memorandum I documented contemporaneously in my House Ways and Means Committee testimony that states what Asst. United States Attorney Lesley Wolf told us on that day. I think it was September 3rd of 2020, and that’s that they had information from the laptop that they were not providing to the investigators.”
The congressman then asked Ziegler about his request to move the investigation to Washington.
“Not only is it a no,” Ziegler said he was told, “but it is a no you shouldn’t have this investigation in the District of Columbia.”
Palmer said this is more proof that the IRS investigators were “misled” by the DOJ.
“It appears to me that Mr. Ziegler was misled and his instincts were right that it should have been moved to the District of Columbia,” Palmer said.
Today, we learned powerful forces inside the DOJ prevented IRS agents from looking into allegations against Hunter Biden. IRS whistleblowers told us the DC US attorney refused to help in the investigation just two days after agreeing to help.@GOPoversight
