OWA Parks and Resorts annual Christmas Tree Lighting in Foley is returning for its eighth year with a special musical guest set to host the event. American Idol and Alabama native winner, Taylor Hicks, will kick off the fun on November 23rd.
Along with the tree lighting, attendees will be able to participate in the North Pole Experience, Elf Academy, and Breakfast with Santa.
“Step into the magical North Pole, where you can capture festive photos with Santa, write letters to the big man himself, and enjoy playful Reindeer Games before warming up with cozy seasonal refreshments. And be sure to join us on December 14th and 15th at the Elf Academy, where the little ones can learn the ins and outs of being one of Santa’s elves. “
The heart of Downtown OWA will come alive with performances by not only Taylor Hicks, but Luminary Entertainment Company, and Ballet Pensacola, as well as Christmas stories with Santa and Mrs. Claus.
Organizers are asking those who come to participate in the Toys for Tots campaign and bring a new unwrapped toy to distribute to children in need at Christmas. Drop off locations will be available during the tree lighting throughout Downtown OWA.
For more Christmas magic, don’t miss OWA’s Holiday Projection Show. This Christmas tree show combines choreographed lights and music.
Continue to enjoy the Christmas spirit at OWA every weekend through December 15th and nightly December 19th through the 23rd, with holiday magic for all at the North Pole Experience. The spectacular holiday opportunity will happen every day starting November 23rd until December 31, from dusk to 9:00 p.m. throughout Downtown OWA.
The fun doesn’t stop there, OWA says. Stroll, shop, and savor the sweetness of the Sugarplum Festival in Downtown OWA on December 21-22.
